「シナノユキマス」は当初Coregonus peledに与えられた和名だが，現在は本種がシナノユキマスとされている（細谷ほか 2015）．一方で，おさかな普及センター資料館編 (2021)はCoregonus maraenoidesの標準和名をシナノユキマスとしている．
