備考
日本には1971年にナマズ養殖の代替として移入された（知来・斉藤 2018）．阿武隈川水系では2005年に初めて確認された．外来生物法の施工直前まで阿武隈川流域には本種を利用した室内釣り堀が複数あり，そこから流出した可能性がある．那賀川水系では2006年ごろから涸沼で確認されている．霞ヶ浦から水路を通じて侵入した可能性がある．霞ケ浦では1981年までには本種が生け簀に導入され，そのころに逸出，その後利根川に流出したと考えられている．江戸川では1982年の台風により埼玉県の養魚池から逸出したのが始まりと考えられている．岐阜県飛騨市では本種は「河ふぐ」と呼ばれ，地域特産種として地元の旅館などで利用されている．宮川水系下小鳥ダムおよび飛騨市内では本種が養殖され，下小鳥ダムでは生け簀外に逸出しているほか，下小鳥ダム下流の宮川でも本種が確認されている．富山県では1984年に神通川で，1988年に白岩川でそれぞれ確認されている．岐阜県から流下したものか，立山町で養殖されたものが逸出したのかは不明である．矢作川水系では2005年に初めて確認された．琵琶湖では2001年に初めて確認され，2008年から下流の瀬田川でも確認されている（片野ほか 2010）．
