和名の語源

ユゴイ = 静岡県伊東での呼び名．温泉が湧出して水温の高まった汽水の池沼に生息していることからという説（大島 1940）．

備考

静岡県伊東市浄ノ池ではかつて国の天然記念物であったが，いなくなったため1982年に解除された（細谷ほか 2019）．
